AS Opening Sequence

Question 4

4) Who would be the audience for your media product?

Our ideal genre was thrillers because we found that it was a highly popular genre, and we had a number of ideas that we thought could attract a wider audience scale but after a lot of debate within my group we thought that it may be more difficult to create an effective opening scene with the resources that we had, so there fore we decided to go with the drama genre but make it quite touching so that appeals to our main target audience which is young females aged around 16-27.
Focusing on our genre drama we had to think of the typical conventions of a drama which are serious, plot-driven presentations, portraying realistic characters, settings, life situations, and stories involving intense character development and interaction. Usually, they are not focused on special-effects; comedy, or action, Dramatic films are probably the largest film genre, with many subsets.

PRIMARY AUDIENCE
  • our film is targeted at the age range 15 – 24 years as this age range seems to be the range that would be most interested in an urban drama, we also felt the film would we dominate the female audience due to the sentimental and quick touching effect that our film creates.
  • Even though drug films mainly attract the male audience I though that our film included a variety of themes that may attract an elder audience in the early 20’s for example the theme of parenting which a lot of youths may not have experienced yet. However the number of teenage pregnancies has increased in the last few years especially in London where our film is set so there fore it may also relate to a younger audience as well. For example the film KiDULTHOOD was popular among teenagers of this age and focused on small elements such as drugs, teenage pregnancies, death, peer pressure etc…

SECONDARY AUDIENCE
  • Both genders aged around 19-29
  • More of an urban background at working class.
  • People who have interest in the poorer conditions of London and those of the less fortunate.
  • People who may have experienced situations similar to the main character Lauren and can therefore relate to her lifestyle.

Films and TV shows that both audiences may have seen recently are:
·         Kidulthood
·         Misfits
·         Skins
·         Shank
·         4,3,2,1

Question 2

2.) How does your opening sequence represent particular social groups?

Our film production focuses on a few social groups that include young females, drug addicts, people in poverty and individual associated with street gangs.

In our film we have two key characters that we represent in our opening sequence, even though we have only shown one character the other has been represented and clearly portrayed through props and setting. The main characters In our opening sequence:
Lauren
  • Black young female
  • Aged 20 years old
  • Living in poverty
  • Addicted to drugs- we make this visible in the opening sequence because we see the drug equipment used on the table.
  • An absent parent- in our opening sequence we clearly show that Lauren was as a mother as we see pictures of her daughter, however we made it aware that there is much more of a story behind what we show because of the condition she in living in is not stable t raise a child.
  • Lonely isolation – we see in this condition that she lives in and the way that she presents herself shows she has no one to turn to.
  • Troubled childhood
  • Victim of abuse
  • We are aware that the main character is living unstably and in poor conditions due to her bad upbringing and rough childhood through the way we presented the setting, we chose to set our character in a dingy basement, the setting show the audience the condition that our character is living in and is based around the social group of poverty, we notice the dirty walls, the room she enters is full of rubbish , stacks of chairs, alcohol bottles and drug equipment that emphasise her mental stability

While casting characters we had to take into consideration the way the person look and if they could represent the character closely enough, they had to fit the criteria of a girl who could play the role as the character should be portrayed so factors such as ethnicity, height and weight were all vital factors to consider.

We chose a girl to play the character which was infact me as it may be more appealing to women and easier for them to relate, we wanted to create sympathy for the character so built an intense background behind the story and through the setting to emphasise the serious of the film we were filming.

Research On Drug Films.

REQUIEM FOR A DREAM
The majority of reviewers characterized Requiem for a Dream in the genre of "drug movies", along with films like Trainspotting and Spun. One of the filmmaking techniques in Requiem for a Dream is the use of rapid cuts. Whenever the characters use street drugs, a rapid succession of images illustrates their transition from sobriety to intoxication. This gave us ideas for when we wanted to films shots of the character actually taking the drugs on the effect it has on her.

FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS.
We found that in this film that was strong theme of drugs throughout ,especially focusing on the hallucination effect of taking drug.

SCARFACE
A typica example of a classic drug film, known for its richness in extreme violence, frequent strong language and hard drug usage.

Question 7

Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
Preliminary Brief: Film and edit a character opening a door, crossing a room and sitting down in a chair opposite another character. A couple of lines of dialogue must then exchange between characters & match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180-degree rule should be demonstrated.
Main Task: The titles and opening of a new fiction film, to last a maximum of two minutes (all video and audio material must be original, produced by candidates, with the exception of music or audio effects from a copyright-free source).
Since our preliminary task I found that I have progressed in my knowledge and ability to create a film. In the beginning of my prelim task, I made numerous mistakes that I was able to avoid in the construction and process of the main task, due to having learnt new techniques and also the professional ways in which successful films are made. Having some experience from GCSE Media i was aware of the basics such as how to set up a camera, camera movement/ techniques, storyboarding and scripts. However having doing the prelim task i started to learn that there was a lot I did not know about the process, I was also not familiar with a lot of the technology that we were to use (for example the Canon XAH) because the quality was of a much higher standard than what I had been exposed to previously.
On the other hand the Main task was much more complex and required more effort, knowledge and ability; we had to involve more camera techniques such as panning, 180 degree to keep continuity consistent etc... Camera angles and shots. I began to realise that each shot was vital in making a successful film. During my learning process I began to see how camera shots were used significant in portraying certain aspects of film. Even though I knew this before, going through my prelim task I was aware of how the smallest detail made the biggest difference and could add to how effective the film is. Our teachers prepared us on what is needed to know, we then had to develop this knowledge and use it in our final Main task product. We were expected to be committed and have the motivation and enthusiasm in order for us to create a product to be proud of.
PRE- PRODUCTION.
As part of our pre-production stage for both our Prelim and Main Task we had to create the following:
·         Script
·         Location reccee
·         Story-board
·         Photo story board
·         Prop list
·         Treatment
·         Shooting schedule
·         Cast list
·         Timetable
These document allowed us to be more organised and make the experience of planning our film much more easier.
We created a storyboard as a visual interpretation of the shots we were planning to shoot, it made the filming much easier and organised as we knew the angle , shots and techniques required for each shot we were planning to take. In our prelim task I found that my storyboard wasn’t well developed , we didn’t include all of the shots or note the angles/techniques we were planning to use, Therefore when it came to the of filming we wasted time a lot of time arranging and discussing how we were going to film certain shots. I used this experience to prepare me for my main task where me and my group spent more time in preparing and planning each shot, we include more frames than I had done originally. Each shot we drew slowly transitioned from each other smoothly so when it came to the filming day we knew the shots, angles, and techniques we were to use when filming.
As a group we created our location reccee, we listed all the available locations suitable for us to use for our film, we then listed each of the pro’s and con’s so that we could discuss what location would be most beneficial. For example during our preliminary task we was planning to use our sixth form common rooms as a location for part of our film, we thought it would set the film well and matched to our narrative. However after further discussion we came across a few problems , for instance it would be busy and therefore not safe for us to bring expensive equipment such as the Canon XAH camera, we also came to the conclusion that it may also be noisy and therefore hard for us to film in that condition. I found that in my prelim we limited the number of locations we had to choose from , this created problems when we found that the locations we did choose had more cons that pro’s and therefore we found ourselves at last minute trying to find an appropriate location. Carrying this over to my Main task our group made sure we had a vast list of locations to choose from so that when i came to choosing our locations we should have plenty to choose from, which we did.
PRODUCTION.
As part of our production stage for our Main and Prelim Task we had to make sure the following was in check:
·         Equipment
·         Weather
·         Planning documents
·         Cast
·         Continuity
We then had to do the following:
§  Film shots
§  Re-take various shots
§  Record sound and voice over’s
Prelim Task
In the production of our Prelim Task, we filmed in our school grounds; we were given two lessons to film and finish our task. Considering it was our first shooting task I felt my group did quite well however in comparison to the Main task Is noticed there was a number of vital things we were quite un accurate about. The first, is the number of takes on each shot we took, in our prelim we never filmed the shots more than twice, which left us with a small number of takes for each shot when it comes to the post production stage. Another problem we faced when shooting was the continuity in the shot, in one of our locations which was set in the canteen but then realising that it lacked continuity as there was faint music that played in the background by the dinner ladies and so this was played by the radio and so when we did reshoots and different shots, the music changed and so it lacked continuity.
Main Task
During the production of our film I found that we were smarter in the way we shot our film, we filmed a shot a number of 3 times so that when it came to the editing process we were able to select from a variety of shots. We also chose a quiet location, compared to the location that we chose in our prelim that allowed us to be clear from disruption. We found that our continuity was much more persistent as well as the fact we were able to work much faster and be totally focused on what we was doing. Unlike our prelim we included much more difficult camera techniques such as smooth panning which we used when showing that our main character was dead. We also used our camera shot much more wisely which created more effective to our narrative of our film, for example the close up shots of the child’s photograph instantly created meaning and was portrayed to be as something significant to the film, whereas in the preliminary task we didn’t pay attention to such detail.
From prelim to main task i learnt the following skills:
Time management is key so that you are in time with your time limit and you are not rushing shots that may cause it not come out how you planned , you need to time in making sure your shots are how you want them to be.
Safety shots as a briefly explained it is key to have safety shots , especially when i comes to editing as you want to be sure that if your first choice shots didn’t turn out how you originally wanted them to be, then you will have safety shots to fall back on.
Shooting schedule, story boards, and scripts are essential as they help you to organise and carefully plan your film so when it comes down to actually filming you have a guide of what to film, where to film and how to film it.

POST PRODUCTION & FEEDBACK.
As part of the post production stage for both my Prelim and Main task:
§  Digitise shots on to the editing software ( Adobe Premier Pro)
§  Edit shots, add music and sounds
§  Create production company logo
§  Include credits
§  Receive feedback from peers
In our preliminary task we didn’t put as much work and creativity into our film compared to the main task, we used basic editing techniques such as rough edits, text, minor sounds and very few effects. I also found that we didn’t use the correct shots that were specific to our narrative, for example in our task we added a lot of close up shots and didn’t use a vast variety of shots such as long shot, mid shot etc , we also had extra shots that could have been cut out as they were unnecessary and just were taking up vital time that could have been used for something that had more meaning. We also had to make sure we managed our time well, and that each individual in our group had a fair share of editing the film, we done this by arranging times co-operating with each other on when we had free periods or if we were willing to put in time after school, which all of our group members agreed to. At times we found that some individuals weren’t being considerate of others and would only spend no more than 30 minutes on the work whereas others individual would make great changes and put in more time and effort .We resolved this by had a group discussion and all came to conclusion that this is all of our work and therefore we should all be making the same attempt to put effort In. Also in our preliminary task we were expected to receive feedback from other peers and also non media students from our school, this allowed an outside perspective on our opening sequence and gave us opinions on what they believed could make it better. However when in came to post production in the main task a lot more was required and we found this stage the hardest out of all three. In the main task i found my group was more organised and committed when it came to time management, most of the time we were on top of things and I found that all of us in the group had enthusiasm when it came to the editing process , we all had our own input and contributed to every aspect. When certain issues arise for example using one shot that another may disagree with, both individuals had a say on why they think that the specific shot would be beneficial and then we made our judgement from there. We also created a lot of the things ourselves for example the music , we recorded a babies voice to use as a voice over, unlike the prelim task it showed a lot more creativity, we also created our own company logo using Photoshop and embedded it into our film.  special effect were used more wisely in our main task compared to our prelim as we had more knowledge on the effect that special effects can have on the audience as well as the narrative, for example we used a black and white theme throughout out opening sequence, as it represented loneliness and how discarded she felt from the outside world.  In the main task we then had to ask form feedback , we chose to ask peers from our class and other non media students , like our prelim I felt that it gave us an idea on what we could do to improve our film.

Question 5

How did you attract and address your audience?

We wanted to make sure we stuck with making our film seem realistic as that what dramas are all about, realistic characters and issue being portrayed through a film, so we made sure that our setting was realistic not out of context. Our props used were also realistic and used correctly e.g. the use of the syringe. The audience will more be able to relate to these issues as there based on real life situations and find it more inspiring rather than a mere copy.

Using the conventions of a typical drama film, we notice how women would most likely enjoy these types of dramas especially the one that we were portraying so focused on the technical aspects and the features that our film would include.

Here’s a textual analysis of our film, and how we made it attract to our specific audience:

SOUND.
Sound in films is mainly parallel to the genre. The non-diagetic sound used in our film plays direct to the themes of drugs and poverty of a young woman as it is very tense which relates to the build up of her death used to set the mood for the audience. The sentimental music creates feelings of sadness for the viewers which we aim for to create sympathy for the main character.
CAMERA WORK
We used a variety of shots to create tension and create meaning to the audience so they can understand the meaning of our film. We open with a panning shot of the scene , as we set the film in quite a dingy basement the pan begins to give the audience a feel of the environment our character is based in, it draws the audience in , and set curiosity as to why the film is set there. Our next shot is then of the main character Lauren, however instead of showing her face we show the back of her, again creating curiosity as to why we haven’t shown her whole face throughout the whole open sequence which keeps questions going throughout, as we didn’t want to give away too much of the film. Throughout our film we continued using camera work to be effective when trying the get messages across to the audience. For example various times in our film we had close up of specific things that were relevant to our film on a whole, one of the most relevant close ups were of the baby pictures. This is a direct target for the women who we thought would be able to relate to our film, as it creates quite a touching effect. We also used the sound of baby voices to compliment the pictures which makes the pictures even more effective and would attract a sentimental audience.

Close ups focused on the vital objects in our sequence that related to the story of the main character, e.g.; Child pictures again which create a sign of sympathy which normally occurs when children are involved grabbing the attention of mothers that understand the feeling of having a child. Films such as "Pursuit Of Happiness" are known for its involvement of children it’s touching and "heart-warming gained a lot of positive reception due to the effect it had on viewers.

We also used non diagetic sounds to again create tension, within the audience sounds such stepping on broke glass was used in our film, it breaks thorugh the music used to create a sentimental mood , and tensifies the mood of the film.

EDITING
We kept the editing very limit to make sure that we kept the realistic element to the film, we used black and white to create a subtle effect and it also related to the way her world is so dark and isolated.

Using IMDB I noticed the following films shared the same keywords and elements making these films also suitable for my target audience to watch and enjoy
• (THE WIRE) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0306414/
• (TRAINSPOTTING ) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117951/

Question 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

Through the construction of our film, I have learnt a number of vital things about the software and equipment that I used to construct my media product.

From the process of filming I learnt how to pack at set up equipment fast and safely, we were told to always check the equipment and make sure everything that we needed was ready for use.
The equipment we had to check was:
·         Camera ( Canon XAHi)
·         Tape
·         Clapper-board
·         Chalk
·         Portable batter pack
·         Cap for lens
·         Tripod

SHOOTING EQUIPMENT.The shoot my film I used a Canon XAHi before the construction I wasn’t aware or comfortable in how to use or set up any sort of camera but during the process I learnt how to:
- Set up the camera, I learnt the mode that the camera had to be on to film which was (A),

I learnt the different parts of the camera and where to ‘record, play, stop, rewind, forward etc’.I was shown the places in which the battery was placed and how to insert the tape and take out the tape safely.
We then uses a Libec SL20 tripod which I had to learn to use effectively in order to get a range of smooth shots , pans , distance , levels and movement.
The steps to set up the tripod were as follows:
Remove tripod from its bag > release the wire holding each of the legs together> untwist the grips of each legs> place on the floor and raise to the highest level> tighten grips back into place to prevent slipping or unstableness>Untwist the second set of grips to extend the top half and rise to my eye level>tighten grips back into place>Check sprit level by making sure the ball was in the middle of the circle , I done this by controlling a ball underneath the head of the tripod so filming can be done accurately and level.

The camera was then removed from its bag being held by its handle, it was then attached to its shoehorn and tightened with a 2p coin once that was secure I slid it on to the tripod and tightened the side.

SOUND EQUIPMENT.

We used a Seinheiser microphone to record the sound we needed in our film, which was placed on top of the camera, in case of bad weather condition or filming outside, we were shown how to set up a windshield system so that rain would affect the microphone we were using, however in our film production we were shooting inside a very remote basement so noise wasn’t an issue that we had to face.
On our camera we were shown how to make sure that the levels of sound were within the boundaries for it to sound clean rather than too loud we done this by making sure the noise level was on green rather than red.

LIGHTING
We came across a few issues with lighting as we were filming in a dark area and wanted to create that dark atmosphere however the torch we brought didn’t supply enough light to film so we resulted in filming in the light.
EDITING
To edit our film footage we used software called Adobe Premiere Pro
Where we digitised, trimmed, cut, and edited out footage to create our final film.
In using this software for the preliminary task I was quite familiar in the steps needed to begin editing my film.

We first had to transfer our rushes to the actual software so we could begin, we connected the camera to the computer using a fire wire lead which linked in a small socket and the back of the camera and with the tape inside rewinded to the beginning of our footage. We then connected a Lacie drive (80 GB) a hard drive extension where we would save all of our editing film process onto.

Once this was all done, we started up the adobe premier pro software, clicked on > New Project and saved our new file under all our names as we hadn’t yet came up with our films title.
Next a member of our group clicked on F5 which was a shortcut for digitising, once the second screen had appeared we clicked onto play where we played the rushes recording and stopping in and out of each of the shots we wanted, in the production process we made sure we used the clapper board to label each of our shots and note whether each was either a good shot or a bad shot so that when it came to the editing process, it would be much more easier to pick out the shots we needed as each of them was labelled.

Once the digitising process had been completed we then needed to arrange the shots we knew we were going to use into the right order in each of the shots we marked in and out the section we wanted accurately  and placed it on timeline.
After our rough edit was completed, we began trimming each of our shots to make sure each of the shots were cut precisely, we zoomed in on the time line so that the maker could track each shot in much more detail were we then trimmed each shot down with the razor tool.

During our editing process we noticed there were a few shots missing and that we should have filmed the shots more than what we had already done, this made certain areas of our editing process much harder than expected because we still had to be careful with common mistakes such as continuity however with very careful and precise editing we were able to construct our film together smoothly.

Once all the main editing had be completed , we began to think about the effects that we wanted to add to our film, because our film genre is drama, which is known for portraying real life situations, too much unnecessary effects would mean our film would stray sway from the conventions of our chosen genre. Therefore our effects were very limited as the only effect we did have was a black and white theme throughout the opening sequence and a few transitions e.g. fade in/out to make each shot move from one to another more smoothly.

After all our transitions were completed all that was left to complete was our music, sounds titles and credits.
The copyright free music we chose came from a website called                    the music worked in parallel to the mood our film was trying to create making it suitable to use in our film, we worked out when the volume of the music changes because we were also adding voice overs and non diagetic sound to our film meaning that all elements had to work In conjunction with each other.
We finished the music and then moved onto the voice overs, which we also found on a copyright free website, we imported it into the software and like the music; we altered the volume and placed it in the right areas of our film.

Lastly was our title, we designed our company title ourselves and using another software called Photoshop we able to construct it and import it into the software where we were editing our film. The title of our film we also constructed ourselves thorough using baby powder and shaping it into our film title ‘ FORSAKEN’ on the table. Other title of the actors/tress’s were made by the actual adobe premier software itself a basic ‘text’ tool we used and placed into onto the right position on our film.

Finally we had finished all the steps in making our final media product; throughout this process I learnt many different techniques and aspects of filming that I didn’t know before creating this product

In hindsight;
  • Remember to check and make sure all equipment is present.
  • It is important to film shots no less than twice as it is unlikely to get the shot accurately in the first take.

Pulp Fiction

Drug Scene - Pulp Fiction
Pulp fiction

Pulp Fiction is a 1994 American crime film directed by Quentin Tarantino, who cowrote its screenplay with Roger Avary. The film is known for its rich, eclectic dialogue, ironic mix of humor and violence, nonlinear storyline, and host of cinematic allusions and pop culture references.

We used Pulp fiction to gain a lot of understanding of how drugs is portrayed in films, we began to see how drugs isnt always used in poverty but also in wealthier classes also, it is also related to gang affiliates which is one element of our film 'foresaken'.

Props such as:
- Syringes
- Lighters
- Spoons
- Drug Bags
That were seen in pulp fiction helped us to make our scene look more realistic and also helped us learn how to make drug taking look beliveable.

Question 1

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Our film opening sequence follows the forms and conventions of real opening sequences, but it also challenges and develops some of these conventions as well. Our film forsaken is based around the Drama genre. We used some of these conventions which include, plot-driven presentations, portraying realistic characters, settings, life situations, and stories involving intense character development and interaction. Usually, they are not focused on special-effects, comedy, or action making it more familiar to the audience and meeting their expectations of their preferred genre but challenged certain aspects to give our film a small twist and create curiosity.

Like most real media products our film follows the same form of an opening sequence by:
  • Introducing the character
  • Introducing the narrative
  • Establishing the setting
  • Incorporating titles and music throughout our sequence
The main themes in our film are:
  • Drugs
  • Death/suicide
  • Poverty
  • Parenting

The use of drugs and the presence of drug equipment reflects on how hard the main characters life has been, all of themes link together and are seen in the film, as the film begins we notice the state of our main character her hair is messy, hands are dirty and the location she is in which seems to be a basement is very dark and dingy. This all plays a major role into the character and her background; death/ suicide is the most prominent theme throughout the film as the character faces loss of many loved ones, leading her to commit suicide in the ending of the opening sequence.
We made most of our themes clear to give the audience a small insight into what may happen and a clue about what the theme may be about, parenting theme we decided not to make as obvious because it was the most important part of the film which links all themes together so instead of giving it away, we incorporated small clues like pictures and baby voice overs. Small effects like black and white show the audience how isolated the main character is and symbolises how she feels along with the world that she is living in, the music play parallel to this in order to create more of an atmosphere.

In our opening sequence we challenged the typical conventions of a normal film by shooting in non chronological order; most films follow a linear sequence (Beginning- Middle- End) We done this because we believe that it would engage the audience at the beginning and keep them intrigued into finding out what happens.

In regards to characterisation our film also challenges the conventions of most dramas as our main character is a female, this is very unusual especially when the main concept is of drugs poverty etc which is normally played and portrayed by a male. However to create a more powerful film we decided to go against these and subvert the normal conventions also to create more sympathy for the character. (Trainspotting 1996) is an example of how males are normally used to portray drug use , the main character addicted is infact a male unlike our film forsaken, we also subverted conventions by making the character quite young this make our film even more effective.

This is similar to the film (KiDULTHOOD 2006) which also follows some of the same themes as our film showing how our film relates to real life media products, In KiDULTHOOD the characters are teenagers and reflect the issues faced in their community, In one specific scene there are two young girls taking cocaine, this is similar to our film as we see the main character injecting herself however we challenge this by making the effects fatal.
Children are normally the spirit of most dramas, for example the (Pursuit of happiness 2006) the main character’s son makes the film uplifting, but in our film forsaken we surprise the audience by the death of the baby challenging the codes and conventions.

Like most films sound is a combination of three main elements; - the human voice,
The sound effects and music to give the film more meaning. We followed two of these elements (sound effects & music) however we didn’t use the human voice as we wanted to build up the atmosphere and give meaning through the way we filmed rather than through speech.

We used diagetic sounds such a glass cracking, baby voices, and non diagetic sounds such as a flat line and the music for the mood of the film. In TV dramas such as Holby city, sound effect such as flat line and heartbeats can be heard as symbolises what is the condition of the character we incorporated this into our film by adding the flatline to show our character has died.

Our narrative like most films started with an equilibrium which was then disrupted, this was then followed by a resolution and started with a new equilibrium, however our film followed a non linear approach and therefore was shot in non chronological order we decided to begin our film with the ending sequence and then flashback to the beginning of our story to reveal the events that led to the final tragedy, similar to films such as (Inception 2010, Kill Bill 2003, Memento 2000) we believed this would explain our narrative more effectively , it will hook the audience from the start and in the end all questions should successfully be answered.

Lastly in regards to Mise En Scene, we used a black and white special effect throughout the opening sequence, but showed colour on the baby pictures this automatically gives meaning and importance to the babies character and hints to the audience to pay attention to small details as such, the costumes and props were all in relation to the narrative, for example the empty alcohol bottles, newspapers, empty wrappers all related to her poverty and also state of mind. We challenged these aspects by contrasting these objects with children toys which creates confusion and also links to the death of her children which the audience would not be aware yet at this stage. It subverts the typical conventions as toys are normally seen in children/fantasy film however we have placed them in a very dingy area and next to contrasting objects such as drug equipment which creates irony.

I believe our films follows the conventions necessary to still be of a Drama genre, we use the norms but challenge these to give more effect and make the film more enjoyable instead of being able to predict what may be approaching which sometimes occurs in predictable films, the way we present the character , our opening sequence use features of real life media products but we are able to develop these to give our own edge and twist to the film in order to make it more enjoyable for our preferred audience.
